The project successfully concludes its strategic analysis, defining its impact, viability, and pathway for transferring results to the healthcare and social care system.

Jaén, September 2025 – The MicroChip4Age project, led by our ASIA research group at the University of Jaén and funded under the PERTE CHIP initiative, has completed one of its most important milestones: the delivery of its Valorisation and Exploitation Strategy Report, a key document that lays the foundation for transferring the technology developed to those who need it most.

The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the social, technical, and economic impact of the project and outlines a clear roadmap to market, including commercialization strategies, a preliminary business plan, and strategic recommendations. This milestone represents a solid step in moving the project from the laboratory to real-world implementation in residential and care settings.

Impact, strategy, and future outlook

Key contents of the report include the identification of the target audience, demand assessment, benchmarking against existing technologies, analysis of the market application segment, a market entry roadmap, and a strategic SWOT analysis. Together, these elements highlight the competitive advantages of the MicroChip4Age system, its technological maturity, and its potential to create social and industrial value.

Training and teamwork

The report’s development also served as a valuable learning opportunity for the research team. Throughout a series of monthly meetings, the project’s researchers actively contributed to the analysis while gaining insights into entrepreneurship, business models, and knowledge transfer strategies.

This process helped strengthen MicroChip4Age’s applied vision and expanded the team’s perspective on the broader impact of its technology beyond academia.

A decisive step towards technology transfer

With the completion of this strategic report, MicroChip4Age reaffirms its commitment to applied, transformative research with a strong social impact. This milestone marks a turning point towards real-world validation, protection of results, and the future integration of the system into healthcare and industrial ecosystems.

The report was developed in collaboration with UN-EM, a consulting firm specialized in the full value chain of research result transfer and innovation processes.
