The work proposes a comprehensive architecture\u2014<\/span><b>AI2EPD<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014which integrates <\/span><b>environmental sensors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>wearable devices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>indoor localization technologies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as <\/span><b>UWB and BLE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, combined with <\/span><b>hybrid artificial intelligence models based on fuzzy logic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Applied research validated in real-life settings<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most notable aspects of the thesis is its validation in <\/span><b>real-world environments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: several sensor-equipped homes of diabetes patients in <\/span><b>Cabra (C\u00f3rdoba)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where pilot testing was conducted in collaboration with the <\/span><b>Matrona Antonia Mesa Fern\u00e1ndez Health Center<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Among the attendees at the defense was <\/span><b>Dr. Jes\u00fas L\u00f3pez Lama<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, family physician at the center and an active collaborator in the <\/span><b>MicroChip4Age<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> project, along with other healthcare professionals involved in system deployment and evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The thesis introduces a <\/span><b>participatory methodology<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that involves patients, healthcare staff, and technology experts throughout the design and validation process, ensuring an approach that is <\/span><b>applicable, ethical, and respectful of privacy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It also includes an analysis of the system\u2019s <\/span><b>sustainability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in relation to the <\/span><b>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>2030 Agenda<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>A contribution to the technological core of MicroChip4Age<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This doctoral work strengthens the <\/span><b>MicroChip4Age<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> research line focused on <\/span><b>AI for connected health<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, especially for monitoring older adults and chronic patients.
