Both hardware components were designed to overcome the limitations of commercial devices in key aspects such as <\/span><b>energy efficiency, signal stability, and data transparency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innovation in design and experimental validation<\/h3>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The devices were designed using <\/span><b>low-power components and 3D-printed enclosures<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, incorporating an <\/span><b>over-the-air (OTA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> update system and <\/span><b>firmware based on Zephyr RTOS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which allows direct integration into IoT architectures and research environments.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#13;\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initial tests, carried out in the <\/span><b>anechoic chamber of the Radiofrequency and Antennas Laboratory at the University of Valencia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, confirmed <\/span><b>greater RSSI signal stability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>autonomy of up to four months for the beacons and three weeks for the wristband<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>reliable real-time data exchange<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in controlled conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A step forward toward ethical and efficient localization<\/h3>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The study demonstrates the feasibility of customizing BLE devices to optimize their performance in assisted environments, offering precise control of transmission power, channel selection, and advertising frequency. This approach overcomes the limitations of commercial beacons, providing <\/span><b>greater autonomy, stability, and adaptability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the needs of residential or clinical contexts.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the authors, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cthese results reinforce the potential of microelectronics and artificial intelligence as key pillars for the next generation of monitoring systems that promote health, safety, and independence among older adults.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International impact and projection<\/h3>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The publication strengthens the <\/span><b>ASIA Research Group\u2019s leadership<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in developing technologies applied to care and assisted living. The study was conducted by <\/span><b>David D\u00edaz-Jim\u00e9nez<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Jos\u00e9 L. L\u00f3pez Ruiz<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Juan Carlos Cuevas-Mart\u00ednez<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Joaqu\u00edn Torres-Sospedra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Enrique A.
