With less than a month to go before the completion of MicroChip4Age, the ASIA research group at the University of Ja\u00e9n has obtained the official industrial design registration for its smart wristband and BLE beacon\u2014one of the most important milestones of the project.<\/p>\n
Ja\u00e9n, November 2025.<\/strong> \u2013 The MicroChip4Age<\/strong> project, coordinated by the ASIA Research Group<\/strong> at the University of Ja\u00e9n<\/strong>, celebrates one of its most significant achievements: the official granting of industrial design registrations for the smart wristband and BLE beacon developed within the initiative.<\/p>\n The certificates, issued by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM)<\/strong>, represent a decisive step in the project\u2019s path toward technological maturity, protection, and future transfer.<\/p>\n The two registered devices embody the project\u2019s vision: Both designs combine engineering, aesthetics and usability, while maintaining the project\u2019s ethical and social commitment to users\u2019 privacy and autonomy.<\/p>\n The design of both devices was carried out in collaboration with renowned industrial designer Eli Guti\u00e9rrez<\/strong>, whose international portfolio includes collaborations with GAN, Haworth, Chevalier \u00c9dition and Cider Editions.
